I have just picked up an 88 rs with a 5sp for 500. The body is completly striaght the only thing wrong with the car is that the previous owner(17 yr old kid) blew the motor. I have a guy holding a 350 from an 84 would the tranny that i have now hold up. Also, does anyone know a link or can post what hp any 5sp tranny wouldve been able to handle preferrably from 88-92.

You don't say "how" you wish to drive the car. I'm running a stock T5 behind a 350 HO Deluxe, but I'm an old lazy fart who wouldn't dream (well, I might dream) of throwing a power shift.

By the way, the 350 couldn't come from a stock 84 Camaro.

I want to have a street car that does about 300 hp just enough to shut up all the import guys in the area. I live in a highly Asian populated nieghborhood. I thought it was a little wierd that he was claiming it as a 350 but it was a type o.
