question for 85 lg4 700r4 owners
Does your car lock the torque convertor at low speeds? Low speeds like right after shifting into second gear. I recently was able to purchase an owners manual and it states "it is designed to engage when the vehicle reaches a steady speed above 25 to 45 mph. When engaged, the cluch provides a direct connection between the engine and the drive wheels. On occasion, you may feel certain incidential engine pulsations in the 30 to 50 mph range, this feel is similar to that sometimes experienced in a manual transmission equiped vehicle." Does this sound at all like the way your car shifts and behaves? If I knew someone with a similar car to drive and it acted to same way as mine I would'nt worry. As it stands I have a toggle switch wired into the brake switch to defeat the early lock up.
