Be sure the pivot bolt in the bellhousing is screwed all the way in. Something to check. I recently went through hell trying to figure out the same problem. It takes a large allen head and is close to the transmission.

I just pull the cap of the reservoir and the slave off of the bellhousing. Slowly push the rod in by hand on the slave cylinder to push the air out the top. You can also get a slave cylinder from Advance that has a bleeder screw on it.

MY clutch does the same thing. you have to push it all the way down to the floor. I have gravity bleed it and tried to bleed it like brakes. none of it really worked. I have just been using it with the full throw on the pedel.

By gravity method , do you mean injecting fluid from the bleed fitting on the slave cilinder up the reservoir?. And what is a pheniox injector or where can I get one.? Thanks

I was told that with gravity bleeding you have to open up the bleed screw on the slave and just let gravity pull the fluid down from the reservoir.

ede what does a phenox fitting look like?

pheniox injector is a tool. mine came from northern tool, i think. cost was around 100-120 dollars for the smaller kit, big kit cost over 200, it's well worth it for doing hydrolics. nice thing about them is you can do a reverse bleed, which i prefer or a suction bleed.

I haven't used any special kits, to bleed mine, but I did figure out that you have to un-bolt the master cylender from the firewall and hold it level while bleeding it, the firewall holds it on an angle which causes a bubble to form in the front portion of the master cylender, and you can't get that last bubble out unless you unbolt it...also it really helps to have a second person.

84 that's the whole idea behind using a bleeder tool of some sort, so you can do it in a few minutes instead of having to unbolt anything, and you can do it with out a helper.

i've only used mine under pressure, basically it forces it out, forces everytihng out if you use it long enough. if you use it in the suction mode it ought ot suck any air or old fluid out. take a look at northern tool web site or google pheniox injector and you ought to be able to see what one looks like and what all you get in the kit. of all the expensive "special tools" i've bought this by far is the best, except maybe the 150$ pliers for factory hose clamps.
