Aluminum vs Steal DS??

so is the aluminum drive shaft worth the $100-$200 or just keep the stock steal DS?

i have a supercharged 355 and a T56, so im putting down alot of power, its not a drag car, but i will be doing some road course racing....

will it be a noticeable difference?

should i be more concerned about braking an alum. more so than a steal piece?

The aluminum ones are lighter and take away some driveline vibration however the factory aluminum driveshaft isn't very strong. An aftermarket aluminum one will be much stronger but will also cost a lot more than buying an aftermarket steel one.

If you're putting down a lot of power, invest in a good steel shaft with 1350 u-joints.

The driveshaft in my car is made from 3" x .083" steel

I just bought a LS1 aluminum DS for $75, can't really tell a difference in power. But my car does vibrate less and drive a little smoother, so I think it was worth the money.

I agree. I do the drag thing, and had one made for $240. Needed a custom length. So I got a forged yoke, and 1350 u-joints, and 3" seamless pipe. Hold a 6k dump off the 2 step.
