tranny question

on my 92 firebird, i broke 2 tranny mounts in 2 months, i took it to a mechanic and he said this cars for alot of torgue, he said it might be chipped, i was wondering what kind of tranny i got, and is the strongs tranny mounts out there

and i have a 92 firebird 3.1 auto

The stock tranny is a 700R4. Look into a polyureathane mount & double check your front motor mountsto see if theyare worn. Your mechanic is full of it. There are 100s of thousands of Fbody's out there with more torque than your 3.1.

no no he means on my fbody not no one else is, hes saying my car was more torgue then normal, i can hold the brake and tip the gas and i can spin my tires with no problems
i meant car not cars. i had my front motor mounts replaced,

no matter what size engine it has, it more than likely has a 700 r4 tranny in it w/ different sized bell housing to bolt up to different sized engine blocks and the bigger engines use the same tranny mount so its not ur torque thats doin it my 305 tpi doesnt bust the tranny mounts when it shifts into second so hard it kicks sideways, uve just got somethin wrong.

Don't worry , you will brake the stocker soon enough . But for that v-6 ... .Soemthnig is wierd there. Step up to a poly mount for sure.
