it is for a 700r4 and i am trying to find out if i have a 27 or 30 spline input shaft

 

4 = 1984

1984 is a changeover year. It could be a 27 or 30 spline. Not sure how accurate your numbers are but I'll guess the 165 is accurate. That will be the Julian date so it was made around July. That should be near the end of the 1984 production run so it might be a 30 spline. Next year's models normally start around September.

 

my vin number is up there too being the 180211th car made

 

Sequential numbers start at 100000 so your car is the 80211 one made that year.

 

is that going to screw me ?

 

Since you have a changeover year, the only way to know for sure what the spline count is on the tranny input shaft is to pull the tranny and yank the converter off.

 

that is seriously gay...i dont really wanna go through all the trouble to be let down...but i guess that is what i am going to have to do
