T-56 clutch questons
I'm trying to decide what clutch I should use on my camaro, the engine will be putting out just under 550hp N/A, and just under 700 W/ nitrous, and it will have a T-56 trans, the vehical will be a weekend only car, occasionaly seeing track use. I'd like to get a clutch that can hold the power, but is still streetable, I've had a bad experance W/ a creamic clutch chattering real bad, and would like to stay away from them, anybody have any suggestions? I was looking at the centerforce dual friction, but it is allitle on the expensive side, thanks in advance

Mcleod Street Twin is a nice clutch and super expensive but so is everything for the t-56, of course if your going to be spitting out 700hp that should be the last thing on your mind.

I'm kinda stuck....I forgot to buget for the clutch....I'm using money I saved while I was in korea for the build, and I spent most of it on this pile of parts sitting here in my appt., right now I can mabe spend $500 on a clutch, plus I have to use a single disk, because I have 2 pice rear main seal, and I already have the adapter flywheel for it, also the nitrous is going to be rarly used, so 550 is a more reasonable power #(desktop dyno says 546 hp...I'm hoping it's correct), by the way, I did a search on E-bay, what is a stage 3 clutch...there are a few on E-bay for relitivly low prices, are they streetable? What about a SACHS clutch, that's also on E-bay, are they any good, the only experance I've had W/ clutches is centerforce (good experance) and Hays (bad experance....chattered real bad from day one-ceramic clutch), thanks again

Ah, I hear you man. With this stage 3 your talking about I'am going to guess Spec brand, I had 2 of there stage 2's and no luck with them at all and this was on a pretty much stock car but if you need a cheaper clutch then maybe a stage 4 of their's would be better for you, difference between the stage 3 and 4 is there is no springs in the disk so you don't have to worry about them blowing out on you at a later date since some guys are complaining about it. Do a search on camaroz28.com if you want some good info on what to get.
