700r4- Shift delay at high RPM- WTH?

OK- ive got my 86 iroc and put my new motor in and had the trans rebuilt... The problem that i am curious about is
that when i romp on it ( i have a trans go stage 2/3 shift kit which allows auto or manual type opperation) but anyways when i want to shift and shove the selector into the next gear it has like a 2 second delay before it shifts. It did this before the rebuild also, but i was wondering what the hell it is b/c it screws up my shifting when im tryin to race..

My trans now has the shift kit, corvette servo, alto racing clutches, .5 boost valve and all that other good stuff..

The trans did it before the rebuild so i know that its not the rebuilders fault..
Im also using the stock torque converter now stalling out @ 2100rpm's with the bigger engine..

any way i can get rid of the delay?
Thanks!!!!

At what rpm are you moving the shift lever? At qhat rpm does the shift occur? Have you checked the TV cable to see if it is tight when you have the throttle all of the way opened? If the TV cable has more than a 1/16" of play, it can effect the WOT shifts. Check this?

I shift the lever at 4200 rpm and some times it shifts at 5200 rpm and some times it doesnt shift at all and i have to take my foot off the pedal a little bit and it will shift and throw the back end to the left b/c it shifts so hard..
