700r4 shift delay-before and after rebuild..whats up?

700r4- Shift delay at high RPM- WTH?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK- ive got my 86 iroc and put my new motor in and had the trans rebuilt... The problem that i am curious about is
that when i romp on it ( i have a trans go stage 2/3 shift kit which allows auto or manual type opperation) but anyways when i want to shift and shove the selector into the next gear it has like a 2 second delay before it shifts. It did this before the rebuild also, but i was wondering what the hell it is b/c it screws up my shifting when im tryin to race..

My trans now has a Transgo Stage 2/3 semi- auto shift kit, corvette servo, alto racing clutches, .5 boost valve and all that other good stuff..

The trans did it before the rebuild so i know that its not the rebuilders fault..
Im also using the stock torque converter now stalling out @ 1800rpm's with the bigger engine..I shift the lever at 4200 rpm and some times it shifts at 5200 rpm and some times it doesnt shift at all and i have to take my foot off the pedal a little bit and it will shift.
The TV cable is pulled tight already there is no play in it what so ever.. Any suggestions?
How can i get rid of the delay?

If you have a 5,200 rpm governor, it will not shift at WOT below that, even if you move the lever sooner. As to why it is not shifting sometimes at WOT, you would need to check the fluid level closely, and maybe overfill it by a 1/2 of a quart, to see if this helps. What is the 3-4 clutch clearance?

Im not sure what the clutch clearace is.. but the rebuilder i took it to knows what he'se doin, and he drove the car to instate the warranty and he said it feels like the best 700r4 he'se ever rebuilt.. and its not like i dont know this guy his son is my best friend and we cruise around together and stuff..and Jay ( the rebuilder) builds race transmissions for lots of the racers around here..
and I will watch the fluid level quite closely, but i was thinkin of adjusting the tv cable to see if that gave me anything..

As for changing the governor,.. how do i get it to shift when i want to shift it??
Thanks
