governor clip?

governor clip?
Hi,
2 weeks ago i changed my trans governor but i've a question
700r4
the governor was not held with a clip.
is this normal or has every 700r4 a retaining clip?
is it wise to put a retaining clip in it?

I have never seen a clip on a 700. The mounting holes are there up to about 91 or 92. I always install one for good measure.
