shifting too hard

I've had the B&M shift improver in my 700R4 for about a year now. It firmed up all the shifts, but I'm kind of tired of it slamming on the 1-2 shift. I'm also worried that it might be putting too much stress on my rear end. Is there any way to soften the 1-2 shift?

Drop the 1-2 accumulator housing and put in a white or green spring. After removing the spacer.
