Flywheel thickness?

I just tried to install my spec stage 3 for my T-56 conversion and it hits the flywheel bolts. It seems as though the clutch is too deep. This means one of three things: I'm trying to put it on backwards, it's the wrong clutch, or it's the wrong flywheel.

I looked up the number and it’s the right clutch kit (SC423 – 93-97 lt1 camaro). I’m pretty sure that it’s installed the right way (the side that says FW Side was installed facing the flywheel) and pictures/instructions on their site verify this. The flywheel was machined down at least once, I know because I had it done. It’s possible that it was machined down before.

What’s the flywheel spec thickness and how do I measure it?
----------
Additional question: is the lt1 flywheel the same as the flywheel for the 305/350? After some more poking around I'm starting to think they're different.

put something flat across the flywheel, like a ruler, while its bolted up and see if it hits the flywheel bolts

What flywheel do you have?

No, the T-56 flywheel is not the same as the ones used with the T-5. It is unique. If you don't have a specifically T-56 flywheel, you'll need to get one.

I've got a T-5 wheel. The T-56 wheel is on the way. I'm almost ashamed to think about how much this thing cost me...
