Drum/Open -> Disc/Posi

I want to upgrade the rearend in my 91 Firebird 3.1. It has drum brakes, non-posi, and 3.23 gears. What exactly can I use from the old rearend if I want to upgrade to disc brakes, posi and 3.42 gears?

I know someone will tell me to just buy a completely new rear. Trust me I have been looking. All of the ones I see for sale on here are located thousands of miles away and nobody is willing to ship.

Depends on wheather or not they are aftermarket disc breaks or not. I do not believe that the factory discs will fit the axles without turning them down on a lathe. You will have to see if they fit on your axles.

I am 98% sure you wont get an OEM disc on there without some machining but if you are going aftermarket their should be some out there designed to fit an original drum setup.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for one of these aftermarket kits?
