4th gen Driveshaft Weight

I was told the 4th gen lt1 driveshafts weigh about 14-16 lbs. I was wondering if anyone has weighed them. Also, anyone know what the 3rd gen driveshaft weighs in at? does this make THAT big of a difference? or should i look for just an aftermarket aluminum one?

get a aluminum one. theres a diff with the stock steel one and a aluminum drive shaft. and no there won't be a hugh diff in power so much. you'll feel less vibtarion, maybe a little smoother shifts and maybe maybe a little quick build up of power. I'd use one if i was building preformance ride
