you got it apart already??
do you need any hard parts??

when you replace the servo pin, put a new spring on it. the old ones squish usually.
sometimes they come in the overhaul kit.

and how do you know the pin is too short??

 

Ah yes, torque converter is already here. Its all apart and I don't believe I need any hard parts (at least not yet.) I'll look into a spring for the servo pin, which is too short according to the ATSG book. (I measured the pin).

I'll have to look into a flush kit for the cooler... thanks for the reminder.

 

The problem with the servo pin extender is that it extends the pin a bunch. Then you must grind it down to fit. The only way to know exactly what is correct is to use the gm servo pin tool. This is a $400 item not easily found. I would buy a new GM pin and avoid the extender. When servo is reassembled, push the cap in and out with your palm. Approx 1/8 inch of travel is typical
