Does my 88 SC have a positraction?

Please Help! From what i understand, the base model camaros (RS & SC) didn't come with posis, but I distinctly remember last year (I haven't driven my car since October) when i floored it and left a rubber patch on the road...to my surprise, both wheels left marks on the road...is there anyway my cam could have done that and NOT be a posi rear end? The resonon i ask is becasue i have to order to gears very soon and don't want to spend the extra money for the posi if i already have it...(i also remember when cornering with the car how only one wheels spun)...

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Odds are probably greater than 1000 to 1, that it DID NOT COME WITH limited slip.

Which is not the same thing as DOES NOT HAVE.

Yes it is very easy for a car to leave 2 marks, even without posi. Happens all the time. That is not a valid "test".

Only way to know for sure, is to pull the cover and look. Which I would STRONGLY URGE you to do anyway, because if you don't, there is a very good chance you'll order something wrong.

Does it have posi? I dunno. you tell us. It could have come with one originally and no longer have it, or it could not have and someone already added it.

It is possible to leave 2 marks without a posi, but they wont go for very long

If you have a factory posi you should replace it anyway because they are crap.

As for your question about what they will look like, Posi:

If you're ordering a carrier, then it doesn't matter whether the one that's in it now has posi or not; because that's a property of the carrier. If you put a posi carrier in, you'll have posi.
