th400?? th350??

I am going to do the swap from a 700r4 to either the th400 or the th350. I have built a 383 stroker that has around 500 hp and i was wondering what would have to be done to the th400 or th350 to withstand the power safely. What are the exact parts needed?

Thanx Nick

The exact parts needed are a matter of opinion. Turbo 400's in stock form take a ton of power and abuse. Some guys say the 350 is also super tough. I would suggest using the search button to gather up all the info you can. Brutalform runs 500+ hp and 600+ ft lbs of torque through his 700 r4. Many, many opinions on these transmissions. Good luck on your search.

If your looking for a cheap trans that will be damn near bulletproof (dont we all ) grab a th400. Like floor said, even in bone stock form they are very strong.

If you still want half decent fuel economy then your going to have to go with a built 700R4 (or a stick). Everyone has their own experience on a 'built' 700R4, some guys have blown up their $2k+ 'built' trannys behind fairly mild motors.

i would also agree that a th400 is going to be the stoutest.

the T400 is the strongest, but also is the heaviest, and takes the most hp to pull(spin). The 350 is probably the lightest, and can take some pretty serious abuse, especially when built right. By the same token, you can get a 700r4 rated for 1000hp so it all depends on your needs and your wallet....
