Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
A hole saw or a dragout would be best; followed by a rotary file or the like (since the hole isn't supposed to be quite exactly round...)

i hope your hole in carpet hasnt shifted over the years or you hole will be in wrong place. I had the parts 95 T/A in the driveway when i did the t-56 swap i took a piece of flexible cardboard used the brake booster holes as a reference to make sure i put it in the right spot on the 3rd gen since they are the same. i used a drill to get rid of the center just drill holes around the edge. then poke it out. take a little grinder it wont grind the metal it will melt it away and leave a nice smooth hole.
