Have a 91 305 Firebird, car juddered and when I stopped I found that I had lost reverse. Engages into drive but revs up to 3K before shifting. Have taken it to a transmission shop that is a) reputable and b) local. On the ride down to them I felt it shift into 2nd and 3rd but the shop is telling me that I have also lost those gears as well. Any hints or tips? Don't really want to shell out the $1300 for the work, but really want to keep the car as a spare ( I travel a lot for work !!!) Anyhow any help greatly appreciated. Am considering the salvage route to replace but I am a little leary of that ( No guarantees on mileage etc !!!)

 

check the classifieds on here.. your tranny is shot or theres no fluid in it.
