what is the cheapest way to go posi wit the stock rear end i have now

Axle/Gears: 10 bolt, true-trac, 3.73
find a local JY that has a posi out of an '82-'89 F-body with 26 splines, or an S10 I think. Don't get a gov-loc though.

Or Ebay, or this boards sellers.

can a posi differential fit from a 80s monte carlo it was a ten bolt but i dont no if it will fit

I'm pretty sure it's not the same 10 bolt, it might be an 8.2" 10 bolt or something. Google search "monte carlo 10 bolt" and find out what size it is (or check summit, might be able to find some info there.)

Like I said, this is kinda the "known conundrum" of the 3rd gens - we can only take rear end parts from another 3rd gen, a 4th gen, and sometimes the S10. But that's pretty much it. That's why the aftermarket makes stuff for us (big $ though).
