Popping out of first gear with a T5

It seems as though this problem of mine is getting worse. When i got the car it never used to happen, now it happens everytime that i drive it. When i put the car into first gear, it will sometimes pop out of first even though it seems as though it was fully in gear. This doesnt happen with other gears, just first.
Whats going on here, anyone know??

Ive had a few old trucks that did that because of low oil. might be worth a check...

But remember not to pull out the wrong plug or you'll be in for quite a repair!

.... a toasted syncro or slider....or possibly a worn shift fork/bushing that doesn't fully engage the slider even though the shift is.

It could also be the small engagement teeth on first gear itself as well. If the teeth are excessively worn, it can cause the slider to pop off the gear under load.
