Tremec TKO Shifter Options
I installed a TKO500 in my camaro. Right now it has the stock shifter in it and probably will stay like that for this year.
My problem is the shifter handle itself. I got one from a fox body mustang since it has the same bolt pattern as the Tremec since they are made for those cars.
Now that my center console is in the car I can not shift into 2nd, 4th and reverse because it hits the console.
Does anyone have pics of what they did to their shifters to modify them to work?

If you are using the stock base, you can use any Hurst stick. I used part #538-0197, then switched to #238-5202. Both worked with my stock 86 Firebird console. But both were rather short. They needed to be about 2 inches taller IMO. I have since switched to a PRO5.0 shifter and bought the optional stick they sell. Again, too short. I'll probably modify one of the Hurst sticks to mount to the PRO base. Anyway, look over the available Hurst sticks and try and find a bend that will center it self in your console and be around 10 inches tall. You may not find one thats perfect.

Which one did you prefer out of both?
Do you have either that you want to sell?

I think hanlon motorsports sells one that's custom made for the thirdgen applications. Just type "tremec retrofit" into a search engine and it should point you in the right direction.
