Something happened to my rear end last night, need some opinions

Well, last night as I was driving home my rear end started to whine when giving it some gas, and the car feels like it is lurching towards the left when doing so.
It's raining and wet so I haven't been able to check it out yet.

It's got an Eaton Posi with probably 10-15K miles on it now, 4.10 gears and all new bearings with same milage.
It also has a T/A diff cover with preload bolts in it.

anyone have any ideas what it might be?

this sucks since there is an auto-x event this weekend and the course layout looks killer.

You might want to re-check you end-play. I have an auburn unit that I had to reset after about 5000 miles. It was no big deal but just enough to start making some noises.

Well, I test drove the car tonight before taking the cover off to make sure it was still whining, and it was whining just a tad.
Well, I was rolling in 1st gear and just gave it some gas and it made a horrible grinding sound and thought that the tranny lost 1st gear since it sounded like it was coming from right under the trans tunnel.

Jacked the car up and pulled the diff cover and found that I had sheared off nearly every top portion of every tooth on the ring gear.

Wear pattern looks perfect but the Eaton posi has some serious play in it when rotating the wheel back and forth quickly or just turning quickly in either direction.

Anyone know about the inner workings of an Eaton Posi?
