driveshaft lenth

got a 82 z28 new tranny w/ 9 in. tail shaft, just did a swap 305 for a 350, is there a standardized lenth i need to reduce from the drive shaft or do i need to do the math myself (not recommended i gotta do that and figure out what i gotta do for this crossmember issue. seems it lines up lenth wise, but seems to not line up otherwise. the new tranny has 2 boltholes instead of one, and im assuming forceing this to line up isnt right ,a little help? thankz, mark

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Not sure about the drive shaft length....

However, ALL transmissions have 2 bolt holes for the mount; and ALL crossmembers have 1 bolt hole. Sounds to me like you're trying to put it together without a mount. That won't work.

im not very knowledgable in the tech. deal here, i did everything up to this point perfect with the help of this site , ya ive got a crossmember and again im tryin to figure out what to do on aligning the hole or holes, because as as it is i can only do this by forcing something, and that may be proper since ive changed motors and transmissions,
