Difference In Yokes?
Difference In Yokes?
Im looking for a yes/no answer on this one. Did a t56 swap and used a yoke from a 1970 auto chevelle on my new(bigger 1350) ujoint. And now i hear a light clicking when goin into gear hard and the yoke on the tail shaft has a tiny tiny bit of play, im talking like 30-40 thousandths.
Do they make different yoke for a manual/ auto transmission. Or from a late model car 60's 70's from a new car?

Did you use the proper u-joint?
A 1330 and 1350 u-joint are almost the same. They have the same width but the 1330 has 1-1/16" caps and the 1350 has 1-1/8" caps.
I don't think any GM "car" offered a 1350 yoke with the smaller 27 spline output shaft. If you have the larger 32 spline output shaft yoke from a TH400, I doubt the splines would even grab the smaller output shaft.
