I have just rebuilt a 88 700r4 and I am having some problems.The transmission feels like it is only going half way into second gear,the engine just revs.From a stop with the selector in overdrive it barely moves like its not in first and you really have to rev it up,All other gears start in first. Reverse,first,third and overdrive all work when you manually select them but no second at anytime.I installed a superior shift correction pkg,a .500 boost valve and a corvette servo during the rebuild. T.V cable is perfect.

Well I pulled the trans out today, and pulled it back apart. It appears that I did not put the auxiliary tube in the aux valve body and I did not have the band anchor pin installed all of the way in the 2/4 band. Well no one starts out as a professional or everyone would be one.

 

I always said that you have to tear up alot of stuff to get good at anything. Don't beat yourself up. Most people don't have the guts to jump into an auto trans. I have done way worse.

 

on my first rebuild, i burnt up the band twice in a row. talk about embarassing. i work at a tranny parts place.
