No. I think they line up differently or something. But from what I've read, the work it requires isn't worth it.

You would be surprised how much the T-5 can handle without exploding. And no, the trans won't fit. The input shaft has 10 splines (not very strong at all), it isn't tilted like the f-body trans, and the electrical connectors are completely different. I'm not even sure if the yoke will fit on the output shaft.

On my last t-5 in a 91 i had when I was younger and dumber..I stripped out 2nd and 4th gear and cracked the bellhousing around about half the thing..It had a 305 and I'm putting a moderatly low HP 350 in mine...I just dont want it to blow if I decide to show off one day

I was running 11.7's on a stock WC T5. Yes, I eventually broke them(3) but I abused them everytime I turned the key. - The rustang T5 is no stronger than an f-body T5.
- the input shaft is different
- the bellhousing bolt pattern is different
- the output shaft maybe different(different model year variations)
- the output housing/shifter is different and in a different location
- the sensors are different(easy change)
I stripped out 2nd and 4th gear and cracked the bellhousing around about half the thing..
4th gear isn't a gear. It's only a slider that ties the input shaft to the output shaft(1:1). If you broke the case around the bellhousing bolts, that has nothing to do with power. Thats shock-load. Either a tire hopping suspension or way to high of a side-step.

bad sychros just means either you don't shift smooth enough or it was due for a rebuild. - Nothing to do with the strength of the trans, nor was it broke.

mustangs are rumored to have a stronger tranny case, other than that the problems are still the same... but i did have a friend with a supercharger 351 use a T-5 that only lasted for 3 weeks though then came a tremec

the two trannies are completely different...input shafts are different, output splines are different, input bearing is different, shifter location is shorter on the mustang, mounts are different.....
