complete t-5 package

I have been wanting to put a manual tranny in my 89 formula for a while now and I recently found a place that sells a t-5 with everything u need to swap from an automatic. They are selling this for $1200. Is this way too much for a used t-5 or would it be worth the convience of not having to search for parts. Also I would like to know if it would hold up behind my basically stock tpi 350 with only around 20,000 miles on it, and would i have any trouble selling my used 700r4 which was rebuilt around 15,000 miles ago? Any advice anyone has to offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

if you want to wait a couple months i will sell you my complete setup for about 800-900. its a world class t-5. it will hold up just fine behind your motor. i will be installing a t-56 and will be getting rid of all my stuff.

$1200 is way too steep if you ask me. I just saw a complete WC T5 swap listed on ebay with a buy it now option for $750, and that included a new clutch and a B&M shifter. I'd have to say $800 would be about the highest I would go to buy a swap. If you're not in a big hurry you can round up all the stuff over a few months as it comes available cheap, that's what I did. But if you don't want the hassle of looking for everything over time, it is more sensible to just buy everything at once. I can almost guarantee you can find a whole swap for a lot less than $1200 if you're just patient and keep looking though. Btw, don't count on getting much more than $2-300 for your 700r4. That's about the average going price for a good used one, unless you find the perfect buyer for it.
