can't adjust tv cable!

ok so i just put on a high rise intake on my 91 305 tbi. everything is finally good except my tv cable. i tried to adjust it (push in tab pull back release tab go to WOT) but it won't click out, it stays all the way back?? not sure what to do. i don't feel like messing up my trans.

It is a stubborn adjustment. It takes some pulling but not too much. If you are at too steep of an angle then it won't pull out. Are you using an adapter bracket or the stock one?

yeah i have done it before. just it won't adjust since i put the hi rise on. i think it might be too close to the linkage (the braket itself). it is the stock bracket. would it work if i shortened the cable a little bit? or would that throw off the correct position it has to be at. i heard that it needs to be at one position. any other place will ruin the transmission.

I certainly would not shorten the cable. You need to find another bracket that is compatable with the new intake. Altering the cable may hurt the transmission over time.
