Will Dextron IV mix well w/Dextron III???
Will Dextron IV mix well w/Dextron III???
I just bought a 12qt case of ATF from my GM dealership and they gave me Dextron IV for my specific car. It's says on the bottle it's for use in Dextron II & III transmissions.
However I am installing a new TQ converter and I have a 24K GVW fluid cooler. Due to the additional cooler, I expect there will still be Dextron III in my system.
Will I run into ANY problems using the Dextron IV and the 2 mixing?
Thanks!

Dextron IV is just an advanced formula just like III was to II so to answer your question YES for any fluid info just go to vavloline's web site and wal la you'll get all the fluid info you will ever want.

All newer fluids are backward compatable and there's no T in Dexron.
You can mix oil also. You can mix 10w30 with 20w50 if you want but you won't get a consistant multigrade.
