trans slippin

Ok here's the situation i picked up a used hughes transmission and converter about 1 month ago and now im losing 3rd and 4th they still engage 3rd more then 4th but you only see the rpms drop and dont feel anything. but 1st and second feel awsome.

i know it was used but i dont think it was a bum trans to begin with because it was flawless when i put it in up to about a week ago then with no warning or overheating it started. i also put in a painless lockup switchswhich worked fine

i also have a b&m trans cooler hooked up.

i thought maybe it was the tv cable since it is carbed now with a csr throttle bracket but i adjusted it and it seemed fine with no slack.

i guess my question is im pretty sure it's gonna be rebuild time so do i just get a hughes rebuild kit and keep it hughes or just say f it and buy some other rebuild kit? als if it's just a 3/4 clutch pack which i've been hearing about can i just get that or i need a whole kit?

Are you saying it does go into gear, just less firm of a shift or are you saying it slips in 3rd and 4th? One way or the other, somethings going.....

If it's starting to slip, you need to rebuild. I don't know much about the hughes kit, but you want full thickness steels in the 3-4 clutch pack.
You need the whole kit.
