4th gen v6 rear?

does anyone know if a 4th gen v6 rear end would work for our cars? or do i have to find a v8 rear? i want disc's and a decent gear ratio,

The only difference between a V6 and V8 diff is the gear ratio. They're both tiny 7-5/8" ring gears.

ok, well then i can use one? what type of gear ratios are there, and is this rear end compatable with my 89 firebird?

Wow, your pretty new here, huh??

Try just looking around the site, there is a wealth of information(including the answer to your questions) on the site already.

A 4th gen rear end will physically bolt up to your car.
However, the wheels are spaced farther out than your 3rd gen rear.

There are solutions to this as well. The search button on the upper right of your screen can work wonders if you give it a shot.
