Hey guys, I've got an 83 z28 with factory 3.23 posi and 4-wheel disc. I recently blew the rear. Can I use a rear end from any third gen and put my rear disc setup on it? Or do I have to make sure I stay with a 9 or 10 bolt (not sure what's in the car now?) Can I take a drum rear and put discs on it?

I also have a spare 4th gen rear, but am afraid of the car looking stupid with the wheels sticking out.. opinions? (Will the z28's 15" wheels fit on a 95 formula rear with discs?)

You'll have a 10-bolt. You could swap your discs with the proper backing plate, but why would you want to? The Delco-Moraine calipers and 10.5 rotors are crap compared to the 89-92 alum PBR's with 11.7 rotors, which with the proper backing plate will work on your car:

The drum axel flanges can be modded to accept discs. Check the tech articles for more info on that.
