I just totally destroyed my posi unit and need information on rebuilding it.the spider gears and springs and spring retainer are shot.been looking but cant seem to find the springs or retainers.can I just put new spider gears in it or does the springs and retainer have to be there?its a 2 series 7.625.thought about a mini spool but not to sure yet.

 

easiest and best way would be to buy a new carrier. unless you're racing on dirt and 26 spline axles you don't want a mini spool

 

Depends on what type of posi unit you have. If you have an auburn style (4th gen stock) then they are not rebuildable. Zexel-Torsen units are rebuildable. I have no idea if stock 3rd gen posi units are, or not. You will need a good spring compressor to get those springs back in there.
