You will need either a gear spacer or the correct 3-series Posi. The offset of the ring gear is different between a 3 series (3.23 and up) and a 2 series (3.08 and down.)

The "posi" is just a carrier. Whether you can use the gears or not depends on the series of the carrier. The 3.73 gears are probably for a 3 series carrier. If you have a 2 series carrier, they won't fit.

What gear ratio is currently on the posi?

pull the cover and do the math to see what gears you have then you'll know what series carrier it is. either the gears will work as is or you'll need a spacer for the ring gear, one way or another the gears will work
