How much should I sell my converter for?

I have a continental 10" non-lockup converter with 12,000-15,000 miles on it out of my probuilt 700r4 that I want to sell.Whats a far price to sell it for? It works great but it is a little radical for a daily driver.I wanted to buy a edge or vigalante converter that is a lock-up with a 2800-3200 stall. The stall speed of the continental is 2800-3200 also.It stalled around 3000 in my monte with a zz4. It cost 550.00 new so I was wondering what I should ask for. It is rated for 475-525hp and 550+ftlbs of torque. It has been out of the car for about 5 months and packed away in a box ready to go. If you go to 700R4 & 4L60E Automatic transmissions specialists - ProBuilt you will find it under race converters. Thanks

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Converters can be damaged so there's no way to tell what kind of condition a used converter is in unless it's put into a car and driven. Unless someone is after a specific brand of converter with a specific stall speed and willing to pay the price, any used parts are only worth about 1/2 the price of new or less.

I've seen my converter cut apart a couple of years ago to see a crushed torrington bearing and bent fins so I know they can be damaged. Converter still worked but not as well as I liked which is why I had it inspected and rebuilt.

Unless you can give the buyer a guarantee against any damage, don't expect to get most of your money back when you sell it. Most people won't pay the high price for a properly built, high performance converter.
