TH350C->TH350?

I have a TH350C lockup transmission that lost second gear (metal parts broke, intermediate race?? or something) that I was going to rebuild for the hell of it.

Is there any way I can convert it to a nonlockup? I see there is a difference in the rebuild kits and I really dont want the lockup because the application has no computer.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Sure....

2 easy steps:

Throw the broken one in the trash, and go to the junkyard and get a regular one. They're EVERYWHERE, and they're CHEAP. Don't bother with this "conversion" business.

Besides what was said above, i have read up and it is impossible to covert it. Other than leaving it unplugged...

Rumor has it that the TH350C is actually slightly stronger than a regular TH350!

Well, when it broke it didnt seem to strong...

If what you say is true about the strength I did find a couple of ~$50 parts that enable lockup without a computer. maybe I will rebuild it.

intermediate sprag is WEAK.
quality aftermarket parts and it will hold whatever you need.
contact dave at YANK. they just came out with a converter for the 350C if you wanted to retain your lockup and have a nice stall.
im sure he can at least give you options to get you in the right direction, but a regular 350 is my bet.
good luck.
