Tv Cable Adjustment
Ok guys i read on here how to adjust the tv cable ( throttle cable ). I pushed in a round clyinder in behind the bracket. I then pulled the cable back towards the rear of the car. There was a about a half inch of metal behind a black half circle of plastic. when i pulled the calbe the half inch of metal went in and now the black plastic thing is the only thing showing. I took it for a test drive it normally shifts at 2500 and 3500 rpms. Now when i floor it it goes to 5 grand for each gear. It seems to get up and go alot faster now. Is this what the Tv cable was suppose to do and over time it slipped out to lower the rpms tha tit shifts at? Will this hurt the engine or tranny? Its a 3.1 v6 in a 1992 camaro. Here is a picture that i was using. It is not mine. ( B ) is the clyinder i pushed in and ( C ) is the thing that slid back and dissapered.

if you floor the car it should rev high, as for the TV cable, it should be at its maximun extension at full throttle, thats its natural position and where it should be.

so when that metal thing went backwards that a good thing? Before when i floored it it wouldnt shift it would go to 5 grand and i would have to let off the gas and then it would shift. Now it seems that i dont have too. Seems like it has more power is that possibel or am i just crazy? Does the v6's have a rev limiter ?

if the cable is too short and does not pull out completely at WOT the trans will not shift properly. if the setting you have now works, its probably right. a way to check is to move the throttle to its wide open position, and then adjust the TV cable to be at its maximun extension at that point and your done.
my 355 will shift at like 5 or 5500 when floored and ripping, the thing really screams
