Torque converter going south??
Torque converter going south??
Hi all,
I use a 700r4 tranny behind a modded 327 and have bought a new 2000 rpm stall lockup converter 2 years ago. When it was new it stalled right to 2000 and was tight until those rpm. That means I could drive easily around with 1200 rpm at part throttle.
Now, after 2 years of driving the converter stalls to 2200-2400 and goes to 1700-2000 even at very low throttle changes.
Could this be my converters fault?
Also, a couple of month after I installed it, a random ticking sound from the front of the tranny started to visit me once in awhile. When cruising in OD it sometimes ticks at the current rpm rate and most of the time its gone. I know its not the front pump because I changed it a while after that. The transmission is built, using Alto racing clutches, higher line pressure etc..
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Alex
