crossshaft retaining bolt

Engine: LO3, W72, LT1
Transmission: 700R4, 350, 4L60E
Axle/Gears: 3.42, 3.23, 3.23
crossshaft retaining bolt

I bought a posi out of an 87 ta that apears to be an auburn unit(has the auburn symbol on it) off ebay. the retaining bolt for the crossshaft is missing, where can i find a replacement or will the one from my open diff work?

Buy a new one. They apparently break so often that my dealership (in a town of 2000) actually carries them in stock. Can't recall price, maybe $3 or $4.

Axle/Gears: 10 bolt, true-trac, 3.73
I got mine from napa, about $7. They were just about to ship it back to the warehouse, 'cuz nobody buys them anymore...
Go figure.

oh, the one from your open diff should work though. Remember to heat it up before you remove it, or you'll never get it out. Red loctite on the threads. Use a 6pt 5/16" wrench.
