Question about 700R4 and Rear end

Well I have put the TA up for what I hope won't be a long Indiana winter. I was thinking the other day about what I need to do when I get it out and had a couple of question. The TA has about 39,9xx on it and I know that the guy I bought it from this summer never did any thing with the Tranny or Rear end as far as service. At this moment the recommend factory intervals slip my mind.(due to the age of the car I'm not even sure there relevant) Should I go ahead and service the Tranny and Rear end when I get it out or just leave it as is.(asking this only cause I serviced the 89 TA when I was in high school and shortly after changing the tranny fluid I end up having to get it rebuilt. It did have 117K when I serviced it which probably had a lot more to do with it then changing the fluid...call me paranoid) for any recomendations

Jason

Now is the time to service both the trasmission & rear axle. Forget about what or didn't do, start your maintence now. Fulids are the life blood of mechanical parts.
