ever since i put in a carbed motor i have not been able to get my tranny to shift right.i have a speed demon carb and the guys at lokar told me which cables and brackets to buy but i still cant get it right.i just put in a raptor junior tranny and i am afraid to burn it up.i had someone inside step on the gas i checked the wide open trottle then loosened the set screw,pulled the cable as hard as possible then tightend it up.it is shifting to soon and forth wants to go in and out.

 

the TV cable on our cars is not actually tight.... the self adjusters are nice way to go. there are two different types. you have the stock like one with the D button. and then another one that has a C-Clip that you remove, and then put in... more than likely you either have a wrong cable, a missing bracket.. or the cable is not adjusted right.
