Kick Down cable

was checking my 92 camaro 3.1 v6 today for oil, ect. I saw that the cable under the tv cable ( ithink thats the kickdonw cable but not sure) its seems to be able to move side to side very easly. Is this good ? Could this be the cause of my poor shifting? How can i fix this?

There are 3 cables. 1. accelerator, 2. TV, throttle valve 3. cruise control.
The cable your probably looking at is the cruise.

There are a few tech articals on the main page that instruct how to adjust the TV cable. If your trans is shifting poorly TV cable adjustment may fix it.
