how much play in axles

hello just wondering how much plat should be in axle shafts posi traction
There should be little bit Car jacked up move maybe 1/4 inch

i never checked but i'd guess it runs around .020 or so. it feels like a lot but i bet if you used an indicator it wouldn't be.
