Hey everybody,I have a question.Sometimes when i start my car up in the morning it kind of lurches forward a bit, almost like someone bumping into the car from the rear.does anybody know why it would do this?

my 87 does the same lurch at startup.... i haven't verified it but may be from mixing in a couple quarts of thicker type F fluid. mine is also prone to stalling the motor on the shift from park to drive at warm idle .

I think this is common with automatics. My 87 Camaro and 2000 Monte both do this as well as other vehicles I've driven. I'm not sure of the exact cause.

mine doesnt lurch on startup, but if in park and i rev the engine is will SLIGHTLY roll forward until it hits a gear in the parking pawl.
If its in neutral i can get it to roll pretty far lol.

Yea that's basically what mine does. If the parking pin is not fully enguaged it will lurch forward slightly when I start it until it catches. It only seems to do this when the engine/tranny is cold. Maybe cuz the tranny fluid is thicker.
