Well it seems like everytime i floor my car from a 35 mph roll or hell even 15 my car wont downshift it stays in a high gear and slowly climbs rpms. My friends formula and every other auto ive road in you floor it and it downshifts into a lower gear why wont my car downshift? Tv cable is adjusted properely btw.

By the way, at what rpm is the 1-2 WOT shift occuring? Is the TV cable is adjusted so that at WOT you cannot pull out the cable anymore? If it is adjusted this way, then you would need to install a TransGo throttle valve assembly to correct this. These come in the Shift kits, but if you do not want to change anything else, give me a call and I can get this out to you.

its adjusted by the book push the button in pull the cable all the way back release the button and floor it or move the throttle to wot. My friends formula was done the same way by me and his downshifts on demand when u floor it unlike mine.

Forget the book....... Is the TV cable is adjusted so that at WOT you cannot pull out the cable anymore? This is the only of doing it from up top, otherwise you will need to drop the pan and see if the plunger is "fully depressed". If it is tight, and you cannot pull out the TV cable, then I would suspect the governor of being a diesel type. You can pull the governor out to inspect and change it to a V-8 type or a V-6 if it wrong. If it is a V-8, then I would install the TransGo throttle valve assembly to correct this.

With the throttle wide open, you shouldnt be able to pull any of the cable out towards the front of the car? At idle should the cable be alittle loose ( move it left, right, up and down?) Ive adjusted it before and it made the car shift so hard i thought i was gonna blow a drive shaft. so i found a spot where it shifts smooth. thats probably my prob

Ive got a similar problem. When I got to WOT the engine won't exceed 3500 rpm. I just had an new trans put in. Is the t/v cable just out of adjustment? When I had the original trans in the car all WOT shifts occured at 5000rpm.
