5500 PSI pressure plate making clutch not disengage??
5500 PSI pressure plate making clutch not disengage??
I've got a SPEC V (5) pressure plate in my car. Its rated at i believe 5500PSI can this make the clutch not disengage fully because the hydralics doesnt have enough strength to move the plate. Ive been using this for quite awhile but lately i noticed if i slowly put the car in 2,3,4,5 when im moving it wants to grab the gears and rip it into gear like its not fully disengaging??
If anyone has any answer to this it would be great.
-Thanks

5500psi!?!?!?!?!?!? good god.. what could you possibly need that much pressure for?? is this a funny car or something??? how much power you have infront of this?? well anyway, it probably would be a good guess that its overloading the hydraulics.. it could be expanding the pressure line when you push the pedal.. i'm only running a centerforce dual friction without the weights and its working great behind my motor.. when i had the weights, my clutch would not disengage.. after i took it off, it shifts perfect.. this is my view of it: there is too much pressure and the "fingers" on the pressure plate are bending from the force.. same thing that happened with my clutch..
yea i know its alot of pressure but i got the plate for free and it was brand new so i said screw it. With roughly 500HP at the rear wheels whats a good PSI pressure plate to run. Im using that plate with a centerforce clutch.
Is there anythingi can do to still use this pressure plate. I love how the car drives and hooks with this set-up.
Has anyone ever used a dual friction clutch(centerforce) do you have to modify anything to install or its just like a regular clutch install?
-Thanks
