Quick question about Pro Built rebuild kit

Hey, I have just one quick question about Pro Built Automatics 700R4 Rebuild Kit-Street/Strip #41 kit. Does anyone know if this kit is for both pre and post '88 700s, or just post '88?

I have an '83 that lost 3/4 gears so I need a rebuild. Any and all suggestions are welcome!

thanks

If you want it for a pre 1988, just let me know before you order it and I will make the necessary changes to the kit. I would use a 1988 & up core, as there are a few advantages, but if you have to stay with your transmission, I can help.

Right now I have a 12" converter in the car. I need to rebuild the tranny, but that means I won't have money to get a 10" converter recommended for the kit. Will there be negative effects to running the 12"?

thanks

I will have the kit set to a 12" TC, but when you go with the 10"" or 9.5" lockup TC, you will see more in terms of acceleration and it is easier on the gear train due to their lighter weight.
