700r4 going south

i dont know much about transmissions so maybe you guys can help identify the problem. in park the trans wines pretty loud and gets louder as the rpm's increase. also with the shifter in first gear the car shifts at about 3000-3500 rpm right when my car starts pulling so it is really hurting my low end performance. the trans fluid seems good it is at the right level and doesnt look burnt or anything i have a dacco 2500 lockup converter in it. everything else is stock. i have a holley carb on the motor and i have both the proper brackets for the trans kickdown.

The whine is perhaps the front pump. Not all that difficult to replace/rebuild, its the first item to come out on a rebuild.

Perhaps the early shift is the governor? This could also be influenced by the possible front pump issue.

I would rebuild yours soon.
