3.23 gears ok???
how would my lightly modded 89 camaro react to 3.23 gears and a posi?? yes no? the only mods i have are performer intake an 600cfm carb, HEI dizzy, mallory FPR, lowered suspension with air adjustables, 700r4 lockup, flowtech shorties and a 3inch magnaflow exhaust and i think thats it. i know uch of that doesnt make a difference just stating that its there... TIA

well if it came stock w/ the infamous 2.73s it should be a nice little jump in torque multiplication at the rear wheels...plus of course the posi. should wake it up nicely...
i get my car back tomorrow from the shop, dropped it off monday to have my eaton posi, 3.42s, and superior axles dropped in. can't wait to break it in and let her rip!
2.73s suck.

has 2.73's now?
I think that'd help a bit. With the overdrive you can go higher, 3.42 is what i'd recommend, but if you have the 3.23's or something, i'd use 'em.

I also have an 89 RS that came stock with the 2.73's. I'm running 3.23's in it now, and it's a major improvement over the pathetic 2.73 ratio! I've also run 3.42's in it. There's not a huge difference between 3.23/3.42, but both of those ratios make it actually drive more like a sports car instead of feeling like grandma's Delta 98.

I got 3.08s now and i'm lookin to change them with 3.73s. How much do you think that'll run me with parts and labor. Just as a ballpark figure.
